"Something About Us" is a fashion film that opens a conversation on neurodivergence, challenging the stigma surrounding individuals on the autism spectrum by recognizing them as variations of neurotypical people, each with their own unique qualities. The film delves into the coping mechanisms of those navigating daily mental health challenges, presenting their experiences through a vintage cinematic lens that redefines perspectives in a stylish and compelling way. With a strong emphasis on texture-both sonic and tactile-the film visually translates these elements to create a rich sensory experience. Techniques such as double exposure, tilted framing, canted angles, and distortion are employed to evoke a sense of unease in viewers, mirroring the protagonist's emotional landscape.
